FDCW Pitches Now Open!

ATTENTION! Five Dollar Comedy Week is accepting pitches NOW through Tuesday, February 28th.

Philadelphia’s biggest independent comedy festival will be returning May 21st – 27th at Good Good Comedy Theatre (215 N. 11th St. in Chinatown).

Five Dollar Comedy Week is a biannual, 7-day festival featuring 30 brand new, never-before-seen comedy shows. And as always, pitches are open to EVERYONE. We’re looking for ideas that are experimental and fun. No idea is too simple or too complicated.

The only rule: no pitches that are strictly standup, improv or sketch. These can be incorporated as elements, but even that isn’t required. It should be an original show that has never been performed before. Follow your brain to weird places!

THESE ARE THE TYPES OF PITCHES WE WANT:

FULL SHOW – 45 to 60 minutes in length

WORKSHOP – Typically interactive faux-workshops and seminars that take place during the day (past examples: Donut Tasting, Cold Yoga, Anger Encouragement).

SECRET SHOW – unannounced, extra-experimental shows (20 to 45 minutes in length)

Pitches should be 2-3 sentences (please no longer than 4 sentences) and include a descriptive title. You can send as many pitches as you want in one or multiple emails. Send all pitches to hello@goodgoodcomedy.com with the subject line FDCW Pitch.

The deadline is Tuesday, February 28th at 11:59 PM. PITCH AS MUCH AS YOU WANT UNTIL THEN. Spread the word!
